How it went, from start to adjustment.
My first road race was a half marathon. I had travelled to Florianópolis with my best friend. There was the trip, the challenge and a lot happening inside me.
During the race, I thought about the life I wanted. That was where I decided to move to Florianópolis.
I was moving on the outside and reconsidering things on the inside. The race gave me time to think, to talk to myself and to look at what I wanted to leave behind.
The city didn’t solve my life. The decision didn’t come with every answer. But that journey became connected to a choice that left the race and entered my days.
When I tell this story now, I want to remember what happens after deciding, too. Moving asks for work, organisation and room to adjust what I imagined.
Florianópolis became part of my life. I’m still building the way I live here. Sometimes a choice begins in movement. Then it needs to find a place in everyday life.
