Freedom has consequences

When I think about living well, the first thing that comes to mind is being able to choose.

Decision

When I think about living well, the first thing that comes to mind is being able to choose. But freedom, on its own, leaves part of the story out. There is what I want. And there is what comes after I choose.

Action

I’ve changed places and work. Europe, Sinop and real estate have been part of my life. Today, Florianópolis and online work are part of what I’m building. I don’t tell this as a perfect sequence of successes. They are pieces of a life that changed while I tried to understand what made sense.

Adjustment

I want to keep choosing with greater clarity: what does this decision open up? What does it ask of me? What can I sustain after the excitement?

Freedom finds its footing when I look at those answers.

The account

How it went, from start to adjustment.

When I think about living well, the first thing that comes to mind is being able to choose. But freedom, on its own, leaves part of the story out. There is what I want. And there is what comes after I choose.

For me, both belong in the same sentence. A life of my own also asks me to take responsibility for my decisions.

Not every change begins with certainty. Sometimes it begins with a question that no longer fits the old routine.

I want to keep choosing with greater clarity: what does this decision open up? What does it ask of me? What can I sustain after the excitement?

Freedom finds its footing when I look at those answers. The next step can be small. It needs to be one I’m willing to live with.
